The sports world watched as the Selection Committee announced the 68 teams that would be participating in this year’s NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship. All of the madness starts on March 17. Did your favorite team make it? Are you ready to go “dancin?”

Papa John’s Atlanta has gotten caught up in the moment and wants to award some teams too! So we have compiled a list of what types of pizza these college teams remind us of. Check out our list, and don’t forget to order some pizza while you watch all of the games!

Kentucky: The Wildcats finished the regular season 34-0. It is no surprise that they enter the tournament as a No. 1 seed. Coach Calipari and his team are looking to be the first undefeated team since the 1976 Indiana Hoosiers. This team reminds us most of our Pepperoni Pizza. The Cats and this pizza are always on top and they never disappoint. Kentucky plays the winner of Hampton and Manhattan on March 19 at 9:40 p.m.

Kansas: The Jayhawks received a top-three seed for the ninth consecutive season and the Big 12 Title for the 11 consecutive year. This Kansas team reminds us of our Sausage Pizza because it is so good every time, even if it is a little underrated. Kansas is going to need some spice too, as it is in the same region as No. 1 Kentucky and state-rival No. 7 Wichita State. Wichita State and Kansas will likely play in the third round of the tournament. The Jayhawks play No. 15 New Mexico State at 12:15 p.m. on March 20.philly-cheesesteak

Villanova: Another set of Wildcats makes our list. Villanova claimed the BIG EAST title for the first time since 1995 and earned the No. 1 seed in the East. Of course, this Big 5 team is the Philly Cheesesteak Pizza. These guys play hard for their city and are coming into the tournament hot on a 15-game win streak. Watch Villanova play No. 16 Lafayette on March 19 at 6:50 p.m.

Georgia: The Bulldogs were a bubble team going into Selection Sunday. Thankfully for the Dawg Nation, Georgia was invited to the tournament. Georgia has fought its way through a difficult SEC season and ends the regular season 21-11. Georgia is like the Buffalo Chicken Pizza, a favorite to us down South, but they are going to need some fire to make it in the tournament. No. 10 Georgia plays No. 7 Michigan State on March 20 at 12:40 p.m.

Wisconsin: Things aligned perfectly for No. 1 seed Wisconsin during the Big Ten Championship. The Badgers overcame an 11-point deficit to beat Michigan State in overtime to claim the program’s first top seed. For this reason, Wisconsin is most like our Garden Fresh Pizza, where the flavors align perfectly to give you the pizza of your dreams. Watch the Badgers play No. 16 Coastal Carolina on March 20 at 9:20 p.m.

North Carolina: North Carolina may have lost the ACC Championship to Notre Dame on Saturday night, but it was not denied a chance to dance. The Tarheels are a No.  4 seed in the West. North Carolina is like a Cheese Pizza to us; always a classic, and never a letdown. UNC will play No. 13 Harvard at 7:20 p.m. on March 19.

Georgia State: Our hometown team, the Georgia State Panthers, earned their second trip to the tournament after defeating Georgia Southern in the Sun Belt Conference Championship. Coach Ron Hunter was so excited after the win that he tore his Achilles tendon in the celebration. Because the Panthers are so good and surprising, they remind us of the Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza. This pizza is a new kid on the block, but it’s got a bunch of people excited — like Georgia State. GSU plays No. 3 Baylor on March 19 at 1:40 p.m.

Arizona: And yet another gang of Wildcats will be in the tournament this year. The Arizona Wildcats earned a No. 2 seed in the West after claiming the Pac-12 title. Arizona has a team of veteran players, and is rumored to be the only team with the potential to blemish Kentucky’s perfect record. Arizona and The Big Bonanza Pizza have a lot in common. Both of these things have many good elements that will dominate the competition. Arizona first has to play No. 15 Texas Southern at 2:10 p.m. on March 19.

It’s March which means it’s time for madness. Let us know what pizza your favorite team reminds you of. Enjoy all the games with the Papa John’s pizza of your choice and savor it all — March only happens once a year.
